Victoria's Secret - my underwear shopping hero
Please take this post as a side-note to my usual Friday blatherings, but I wanted to shout about a positive experience that I thought could be useful for my fellow preggos and ladies alike.

Now I don’t know about you, but I own
roughly a thousand bras in a variety of different sizes, and yet somehow I
never seem to have one that fits properly.
As everyone knows, it’s always important to be wearing a well-fitting
bra, but never more so when you’re pregnant and your boobs are transforming
from mandarins into melons.
When I was pregnant with Coco and I had the
luxury of time, I would love to spend afternoons wandering around maternity
shops perusing their wears. However,
shopping has never really been the same since the arrival of my little angel,
and consequently I need a store where it’s customer service allows us to shop
at the speed of Lewis Hamilton round Silverstone.
After frequenting my usual one-stop shop
for underwear, and being greeted by it’s staff in a rather rude “computer says
no” style fashion when requesting a bra fitting, I was a bit flummoxed by where
I should try next. Step forward Victoria's Secret.
I had often bought a few bras and knickers
there when in the States but for some reason it had never occurred to me to
shop there in the UK, especially for pregnancy underwear. I will not make the same mistake again. I could have cried in delight at seeing the
shop assistant with her tape measure securely around her shoulders at the shop
door, and I didn’t even mind when she took my measurements (over my t-shirt!)
in said doorway. I was then taken to the
back to be greeted by another friendly assistant who was able to pick out the
best bras for my needs and speak knowledgably about the type of bra I should be
wearing at this time. I was finally
fitted properly in the changing room and advised again for another lady who
seemed to know her stuff.
Now, being an American store the service
there is also very American and to receive a
“Have a nice day!” from the cashier as I left wouldn’t have been a
surprise. But after receiving the shoddy
service from a much-loved British department store (you know how you are!) I
couldn’t have been more delighted to be fitted quickly and efficiently with
bras that were comfy, pretty, accentuated my shape and made me look and feel
good.
I recounted this tale to my friend who has
recently had a baby and for some reason Victoria's Secret had never really occurred
to her for the less unsexy stables either, so I thought I would share my secret with you guys too.

Ooh i stocked up on knickers when I was in the US in April...I have to say I've never had positive experience in the bra-fitting department, but that's only been stateside (they over-inched me 6 inches and under-cupped me 3 cups, it was hilarious!) so maybe I should try again now that they've opened in the UK. Which reminds me, I must get measured again, it's been 7 years! Maybe I should give them a go! X
