For me, formal wear has always been a bit
of a mare. I pretty much always have
something in mind, but in my mind I also have the body of a Brazilian
supermodel, so regardless of how many times I go through the process the same
thing happens. I give myself 24 hours
pre-event to track down my imaginary perfect outfit and then despair
desperately when a) it doesn’t exist, or b) makes my bottom look bigger than
Kim Kardashian’s in a hall of mirrors – and not in a good way. Now factor in the fact I’m pregnant and
formal dates just equal disaster.
You can then understand why I was
delighted, thrilled, relieved and quite frankly ecstatic when the very kind
ladies at Tiffany Rose let me review two of my favourite designs from their
summer formal wear collection.
The first, and my personal favourite, is
the Amelia dress, short in length, in misty lilac.
Price: £169
The second is the Rosa Dress in mocha.
Price: £159
The photos were taken during my family
holiday in France so please excuse the lack of footwear and the cameo from my
daughter Coco who simply wouldn’t stay out of shot (more on my holiday wardrobe
to come soon!)
I’ve always been quite keen on lacey body
con designs, but for the reasons above I have never found one that suited my
shape. That is, ironically, until
now. These photos were taken at the end
of my holiday when I had eaten nothing but pastries, bread and burgers and
these dresses made me feel fantastic and really couldn’t be more flattering.
They both skimmed my expanding bump and hips beautifully where others have
clung to rolls or worse. The satin
ribbon belts provided with each dress give a pretty, feminine touch and
highlighted what is left of my waist.
And whilst the long sleeves on the Amelia hid my bingo wings, the Rosa
made my bust look brilliant. But the
best bit for all pregnant women? Hand on
heart I can say the dresses were as comfortable as a second skin.
It should therefore come as no surprise
that Tiffany Rose is the go-to designer for pregnant celebrities hitting the
red carpet. Granted, the dresses are a little bit more expensive than some of
the other maternity brands, but they are worth every penny. I have a friend’s wedding coming up in
August when I’ll be 8 months pregnant and I am so pleased that rather than
having the usual 24 hour bundle, I can purchase a Tiffany Rose design happy in
the knowledge that I will look and feel great despite my burgeoning bump.
Here are a few of Tiffany Rose’s other
bestsellers but to browse through more you can click here.
Willow dress in midnight blue - £149
Clara gown in black - £169
I hope you love the dresses as much as I
do.

Beautiful dresses! I have been looking at these for a while now, thinking that should I buy one (friends wedding in august), and they look so good on you, that I just might buy one too... :)
ReplyDeleteGotta ask, did you take your "normal" size on dresses? or bigger?
This is my biggest concern, I wanna order the dress in time but I'm not sure how to pick the size... I'd be on week 20 at the wedding and I dont know how big I'm going to be... :D
Thanks!
Hi Mea! I would definitely go for one of the Tiffany Rose dresses for your wedding - they're great! I went for the size that I was, which is a 12. They were snug but there was definitely room to grow. I have a wedding in August too and I am praying I will still fit into mine but I will be 35 weeks then so I think it's unlikely! Hope you have a great time at the wedding. Gemma x
