Seraphine - a maternity fashion saviour

For those of you who regularly read my posts, you will know that I’m nearly 6 months pregnant and I am on a continuous quest to look and feel like my normal self, just slightly rounder in the tum.  A large part of feeling “me” is also being able to dress the way I normally would, which doesn’t include large sack like dresses with no shape or style.

Now I do love basking in the sunshine, but factor in the heat (and hay fever – darn you grass pollen!) it can make it particularly difficult.  Let me introduce you to our fashion saviour Seraphine.

The lovely team sent me my top two pieces to try out and I was very pleased to also take these on my family holiday to France.

White Flutter Sleeve Maternity Blouse - £32

Grey Space Dye Knit Maternity Maxi Dress - £49

Disclaimer: please excuse the cheesy poses!

I have to admit I have been indulging in a little bit of online shopping, so my holiday wardrobe was not exactly sparse.  But interestingly my Mum, my biggest supporter, picked out the Seraphine pieces as the most flattering with absolutely no prompting.  Even going as far to say that they looked “much better!” than some of my other outfits – thanks Mum!

The blouse is light and airy - a God send on hot summer days.  I’m not one to normally go for anything too floaty, but this really was very flattering and teamed with something a bit edgier made sure it didn’t look too twee.

In comparison, the maxi dress was pretty figure hugging, and depending on the knickers I was wearing, it could reveal a little too much of my muffin top.  But on the whole, the dress was very comfortable and stylish I would definitely wear to a summer party or something similar.  However, a note for the taller lady: I normally struggle with a maxi dress as my legs are stupidly short.  I was delighted with this dress as it was just the right length and I didn’t have to drag it along the floor, but anyone a few inches taller may find it hangs a bit too high.

Truth be told there are tonnes of pieces I would love to add to my wardrobe if only funds would allow.

Enjoy the sunshine!
