Ok so I felt obliged to write this post, because some crazy (but kind) person has taken it upon themselves to nominate us in this year's MAD blog awards, for the category Blog of the Year (and I promise it wasn't my mum!).
Let me remind you that last year we actually won the Best Fashion & Beauty blog in the same MAD blog awards. And although we really didn't expect it, this category was much more attainable than Blog of the Year. Then rather foolishly, that night, we lost the award (wine had absolutely nothing to do with it!!!). We vowed to come back next year to try and win a replacement gong to display on our empty mantlepiece.
Well a couple of weeks ago we were rather disappointed to find out that this year there was no Fashion & Beauty category boo hoo. So we shelved our comeback plans. Then 2 days ago we were amazed to get a tweet saying we'd been nominated for Blog of the year!!!
The types of blogs that win the Blog of the Year category are ones that have strong messages, with exquisite writing, see last year's winner Mammy Woo. And let's face it there's nothing deep and meaningful about Style Me Sunday we try to give you the low down on stylish happenings, we usually try and steer away from controversial topics, as what we do, we do for fun and don't want to blog about anything heavy (not that we don't enjoy reading those ones).
So let me go back to the original reason for writing this post - do not under any circumstances VOTE for us this year for the MAD Blog of the Year.
