Sew Over it #GUMIcraftday

The weekend before last I was invited to Sew Over It - A stylish sewing cafe, with loads going on, in Clapham for a networking event by GUMI - grown up milk info. Go check out there website for lots of useful info on infant nutrition.

So lots of good things happened that day. I ran to the event which is 12 miles - my longest run yet (yes I know I've still got a long way to go before I'm marathon ready). I was clearly a bit stinky after running there, but hopefully disguised it well with stupid amounts of deodorant.

I met some other lovely bloggers which is always good fun. And got lots of useful tips, we need all the tips we can get. Go check them out for some other great blog reads - An Essex Wife, A strong coffee, Being Mrs C, One Blue One Pink, and Rock n Roller baby

I was surrounded by huge of stunning fabrics and whenever I see beautiful fabric I think about all the clothes and stuff I want to make. Although something tells me (or maybe it's the smell sweeping for me) that I have enough on my plate at the mo, so I'll put that in the back burner for a little while.

I met the fabulously stylish and talented cafe owner - Lisa Comfort - you can get her book here which is full of amazing sewing tips for all you crafty lovers.

Last but not least I made this little tote bag with Liberty fabric using a sewing machine. I feel happy at a sewing machine and the one at Sew Over It, was so easy to use. It was the Janome CXL301 and you can purchase them here. Massive birthday present hint there for someone! *hand up very high*

And my big girl was just so impressed with her new bag. And the fact that mummy almost ran so far she ran to another country. Well that was how it felt!

Would you like to get into sewing or do more of it?

If you're a sewing novice and want to know more leave a comment and I'll get back to you.
