I first came across memory maker jars on Instagram. I thought what a really lovely idea. And with my mum about to tie the knot what perfect timing to try out them out.
I ordered my jar online and it was so easy - you choose the occasion, and can personalise it with your own message and ribbon. As you can see above you get a pencil and note paper to write your memories on matching the colour of the ribbon on the jar. Everything you need has been included - so you're all set up and ready to go straight away.
I ordered a jar for my mum's hen do. I asked everyone attending the hen party to think about a memory they had of my mum - it could be funny, sweet or embarrassing. It was great fun talking to everyone and picking the right memory to put into the jar.
Later on at dinner mum picked out a memory and I read it out loud. There were some hilarious memories like the time my mum wore an old woman's mask and pretended to be her friend's elderly mother to her friend's new boyfriend. He fell for it and got a bit of a shock when the truth was revealed!
My mum really loved the memory maker idea and she is able to keep all the memories in the lovely jar as a keepsake and will always have an instant reminder of the fabulous time we had on her hen do.
You can order a jar for any occasion you like, one of the really nice ideas I saw on the website is making a memory jar for the 1st year of a baby's life for an adorable keepsake to treasure for ever.
What do you think of the memory maker jars?
